Meals: a cook can be provided at a small cost, and the village shop is close by if you want to go it alone. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. There are several good places to eat on The Fort. There is a wonderful daily maid for cleaning and washing.

Galle Fort was unaffected by the Tsunami due to the high walls of the fortress. However, future plans for the Galle town area which was affected by the tsunami include a new international test cricket ground scheduled to be moved to nearby Koggala within a new sports stadium complex. Flights are available from Colombo to Koggola Air Strip with Sri Lankan Airlines. An 18 hole golf course is scheduled for Koggola and a yachting marina in Galle.
