This is a beautiful small lakefront hotel.
Tissamaharama and Yala are quite a distance to get to from any part of the country and this is a restful hotel to arrive at.
The infinity pool has a superb view of the Tissa lake, guaranteed with breathtaking sunset! The garden is well maintained with large old trees giving shade with its tree canopy, is ideal to situ on a sun chair and read a book.
The rooms are like small cottages opening to the centrally located pool and restaurant area. The superior rooms are quite comfortable and clean, with AC, TV, Mini Fridge and en suite bathroom with powerful shower and hotwater. There is also a small terrace with with chairs and a small table to sit out with a view.
The food is excellent, with a good opportunity to try out some of the less common local preparations.
Being a small hotel, the staff is very friendly and obliging and nearly every special request is a possibility. Get the laundry done, a white wine for dinner and the morning tea served on the terrace.
It is centrally located for safari of the national parks of yala, Bundala and Udawalawe and the ancient temple of Kataragama. Trips to Maligawila and Buduruwagala are not far from here. |
