NuwaraEliya, an old colonial hill station, lies more than 6,000 feet above sea level and can be approached via Kandy or Hatton. The drive from Kandy is about 2 hours. !! is situated near the golf club in NuwaraEliya.

AccommodationAccommodation The spacious master bedroom is furnished with a king-size four-poster antique bed and its own sitting area with fireplace, ensuite bathroom and balcony overlooking the church. The second bedroom shares the same balcony and has a king size four-poster bed and ensuite bathroom. The next two rooms have king sized beds and views over the garden and the Lovers Leap mountain range. They share one bathroom that is located across the hallway. The fifth and sixth bedrooms also share one bathroom. Of these two bedrooms, one is furnished with two double beds and the other with two bunk beds that can accommodate four children. The bedrooms are comfortably furnished and ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers. There is a lavatory on the ground floor.

Guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Other villa facilities include telephone with IDD facilities, washer and dryer, TV with satellite channels, iPod music system, DVD player, a selection of movies, books and board games, table tennis, croquet and four bicycles for guests to use. Stonyhurst is staffed with a butler cum chef and gardener.
ExcursionsExcursions Being centrally located, there is access to many activities within NuwaraEliya itself including a challenging round of golf at the 18-hole course of the NuwaraEliya Golf Club. The clubhouse and bar is an atmospheric place to enjoy a drink and meal after your round. Other nearby activities includes horse riding, boating on Lake Gregory, bird watching and nature treks. The historic Hill Club offers 4 clay tennis courts and an antique snooker table. For those interested in culture and heritage, there is the Holy Trinity Church where many a 19th century English and Scottish tea planting pioneer lies buried, and the Sita Amman Hindu Kovil nearby. Children will enjoy playing in the Victoria Park or going on a pony ride along the Race Course. Day’s excursions are possible to Horton Plains, Hakgala Gardens, or to a tea estate and factory where you can learn about the famous Ceylon Tea and its production.
