Hayleys Villa is now British owned and has been transformed into a stately boutique villa that incorporates elements of the Galle Fort’s rich blend of Moorish and Colonial influences. This wonderful Dutch warehouse building boasts four independent suites.Each of the areas in this villa has a distinct character. Arches and columns, courtyards and verandahs, timber staircases and loft suites give the property a stylish yet welcoming feel. The interiors are grand with cascading chandeliers, walls splashed with colour and adorned with art and tapestries, and flowing velvet drapes against a black and white checkered floor. |

AccommodationAccommodation Hayleys has four distinct, luxurious rooms: two a/c double rooms, and the Master Suite on the first floor and the Family Suite on the second floor. Each possess ensuite bathrooms with h/c water showers, vanity, and w/c.
Ebony Suite – This spacious Master suite extends over the entire front walkway of the villa and overlooks the courtyard below. Golden coloured walls contrasted with ebony furniture in the lounge and sleeping areas bring a sense of grandeur. The ensuite bathroom has an open air shower.
Blue Room – This is a double bedroom with walls of blue, decorated with oriental tapestries and porcelain. The room is furnished with a king-size bed and comfortable chairs.
Green Room – Double bedroom with walls of light olive green and furnished with an ebony king-sized bed.
Red Suite – The Red Suite, located on the second floor is a spacious family suite. It has two double beds, a lounge area and private terrace overlooking Peddler Street. The interior has vibrant shades of red and yellow with large floor cushions and bolsters which are ideal for children.
The main entrance to Hayleys is off Leyn Baan Street. A columned walkway takes you past the swimming pool and a courtyard scattered with frangipani trees which are lit up at night with small red lanterns. An informal lounging area overlooking the courtyard is perfect for cocktails. Formal living and dining areas are dramatic and have red walls contrasted with a black checkered floor. An ebony 16-seater dining table spans the length of the dining room and is serviced by a fully equipped kitchen. A mix of Western and Sri Lankan cuisine is served here prepared with fresh produce purchased from Galle. The first floor consists of a lounge area with a work desk, the owner’s personal library, TV with satellite channels, DVD player and DVD library, music system, and internet facilities.
