Executive Suite: This suite over looks the river on one side and the garden and swimming pool on the other. This spacious suite has sitting and private dining area, bedroom and guest toilet in case you wish to do any entertaining within your suite. Other facilities include satellite TV, IDD telephone, mini bar, room safe.
Presidential Suite: The Presidential Suite is a large self contained apartment consisting of 2 double bedrooms, large sitting and dining area, kitchenette, and guest toilet. The ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom is fitted with a Jacuzzi.
FacilitiesFacilities The garden is dominated by a huge outdoor pool, which goes alongside the terraced restaurant and large lounge and bar. A mix of Sri Lankan and western meals are served usually buffet style, at the restaurant or by the pool side. Buffet meals do not delight everyone but Mahaweli maintains high standards. Other facilities include 24 hour room service, a fully-equipped gym, floodlit tennis courts, squash, billiards, well-equipped business centre with individual work stations with internet access, Ayurvedic centre providing relaxing therapies, hairdresser, gift boutique, florist, conference and banquet facilities, and regular in-house entertainment.
ExcursionsExcursions Several adventurous and cultural excursions are on offer including River cruises along the Mahaweli River; visit to the Temple of the Tooth where a sacred tooth relic of the Lord Buddha is enshrined; Peradeniya Botanical gardens, with its orchid collection and formally laid-out trees; and Kandy’s rich ancient arts and crafts including drum making, Dumbara mat waving, and crafting Kandyan jewelry, and traditional Kandyan dance and drumming. The magnificent Victoria Golf and Country Club voted as `Best Course in Asia 2005’ by the Asian Golf monthly, and ranked in ‘Top 100 Most Beautiful Courses in the World,’ by Golfers Digest, is a short drive from the hotel.
