Caring and homely wellness retreat as well as a registered Ayurveda hospital. Lotus Villa takes in only Ayurveda clientele, but welcomes children who are cared for while parents undergo their daily treatments. Accommodation is clean and comfortable with rooms opening out to the garden and the sea beyond. The health centre is headed by Dr. Mrs. R. Waidyawansa, a renowned Ayurvedic physician with over 45 years of experience. She and two other doctors are on call 24 hours of the day. An additional team of eight doctors, specializing in illnesses ranging from cancer, arthritis, heart ailments to mental stress, are also available. Lotus Villa request a minimum stay of 14 days. Rates include accommodation, meals, consultations with the in-house physician, up to four treatments a day including massages and herbal baths, and Ayurveda medicines used during your entire stay. |

AccommodationAccommodation Single and double rooms are available at Lotus Villa - 15 rooms with sea view and five garden rooms. Some have connecting doors which are suitable for families with children. All rooms are non-a/c and have overhead fans, and beds fitted with mosquito netting. Purposefully, televesion, telephones, and internet connections have all been excluded.
FacilitiesFacilities Lotus Villa is an eco-friendly, self-sustaining wellness retreat with its own organically-farmed vegetable gardens, acres of medicinal gardens, a pharmacy where the medicines and oils are prepared in large urns in traditional methods over a hearth, and a water recycling plant. The Ayurvedic health centre is fully equipped and has wheelchair access to medical facilities. Airport transfers can be organized by Lotus Villa for wheelchair patients. Meals are served at the main restaurant and the kitchen operations are closely supervised by the doctor. Meals are prepared separately for each guests based on their treatment plan. Vegetables, seafood and meats are served here. Several educational and complementary wellness activities are on offer here including Yoga, Taichi, music therapy, guided meditation, and Ayurvedic cookery programmes. Apprenticeship training in Ayurveda is provided during certain times of the year for visiting physicians and therapists.
