:: Fishing Hut, Hatton Sri Lanka ::
|
The Fishing Hut is a rustic property of two log cabins accommodating up to six people in each, ideal for those wanting to break from the hustle-and-bustle of city life.
This is also a wonderful place for an outdoor holiday with the hut perched on the bank of a gently flowing mountain stream once famous for trout fishing. The stream originates in the Peak Wilderness and is a main tributary to the Maskeliya Oya, which is now dammed to form the Moussakelle Reservoir.
Set deep inside evergreen forests on the edge of the Peak Wilderness Reserve within a large tea plantation at the foot of the sacred mountain of Adam's Peak, Two simple log huts have been constructed in a secluded location overhanging the Butulu Oya. Originally built in 1932 by British planters, the huts were rebuilt by Murray Estate in recent times to continue the tradition and allow others to enjoy the great outdoors of Maskeliya and the tea experience of the region. |
