The water of the ?Amban Ganga? (river) first harnessed at ?Elahera? and diverted to the dry zone along the ?Elahera ? Minneriya Canal? is once again separated into two canals at this location called the ?Diyabeduma? (meaning separation of water). One of the canals takes the water to ?Minneriya Wewa? (and beyond) and the other canal takes the water to the ?Giritale Wewa?.
