Corbet's Gap - 3,500 ft above sea level - named after the Englishman who discovered it, is a vast split in the range of Kandyan hills, through which on a clear day an amazing view is possible. You could see as far as the Indian Ocean on the east & West Coast of Sri Lanka.
Dumbara, the 'mist laden mountains' as what this range is referred to in Sinhala. The mountain ridges take the shape of the knuckles of a clenched fist. The Knuckles range and the entire massif is a combination of many forests, open pastures, valleys and many undulating mountains adding a unique character to this most rugged and picturesque terrain of Sri Lanka. The range is a unique wilderness area teeming with life.
