Nuwara Eliya is a pretty green town in the hills with some forest patches, while Horton Plains is a Biosphere Reserve with some superb montane forest. Between the two places, we should see: Yellow-eared Bulbul (Pycnonotus penicillatus), Indian Blue Robin (Luscinia brunnea), Ceylon Whistling thrush (Myophonus blighi), Ceylon Bush-Warbler (Bradypterus palliseri), Jungle Prinia (Prinia sylvatica), Kashmir Flycatcher (Ficedula subrubra), Dull-blue Flycatcher (Eumyias sordida), Ceylon White-eye(Zosterops ceylonensis) and Black-throated Munia (Lonchura kelaarti).
