Peradeniya Botanical Gardens: (The Royal Botanic Garden) Just 6 km from the Kandy town. The largest in Sri Lanka, its extent is 57 hectares. One boundary is the Mahaveli River, the island?s longest. This garden had been laid out in 1832. Its treasures consist of tropical flora and a fine collection of orchids, roses, medical herbs and palms.
